COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution and Allocation

Home care has been highly prioritized in the State’s COVID-19 Vaccination Plan.  Currently all of home care—home health, private duty, hospice and personal support services—are included in category 1a1.

The Tennessee Department of Health has delegated vaccination of prioritized health care workers to regional health authorities, which means that one area may be taking a slightly different approach than a neighboring county.  We have been attempting to compile information for each region regarding how home care workers might expect to become vaccinated; however, this is an incredibly fluid situation so details are subject to change.

We have been told that some regional authorities are allowing home care agencies that operate in multiple counties can get vaccinated in any county in which they operate – some have said the opposite.  Most counties appear to be requiring state-issued ID and their badge.
